this was our first time making chard and it was sooo good! we bought rainbow chard and the bunch was about half the amount of the regular swiss chard bunches so i halved the recipe.. used white onion in place of the red but followed the rest of the recipe to a T.. served this along side of Spicy Italian Pork Cutlets and Oven Roasted Greek Potatoes (both recipes on this site).. ty so much for the recipe
This recipe was excellent!! We have never had chard before & put it in our garden this year and I am so glad we did. I followed this recipe exactly except I had no red onion and used yellow, no minced garlic and used garlic granulated, and did not have parmesan cheese and it was still great tasting- husband loved all the different flavors going on. Will definitely be making this a lot more. Thanks for the great recipe!!
This is the best greens recipe I have ever made. Love the flavors, make this at least once per week even though the swiss chard is expensive (only organic available). I can't wait for growing season, Swiss Chard on top of my list this year because of this recipe. I also have only used yellow onion, I'll try it with red when I have some on hand. Always gets good reviews from my family and friends.
First time having chard...great recipe. We added mushrooms and leek, and was really good. this recipe stays in my recipe box.
LOVE IT - I have Swiss chard in my little city garden and can snip a few leaves to make this quick and delicious recipe for lunch. I used the green onions from my garden as well and using the white part with the garlic and the greens with the chard leaves. I have made it with red wine too- just as good. I like the fact that it uses the stems. Sometimes I throw a few spinach leaves in just for fun.
This is a great recipe! I was always afraid of Swiss Chard until now! I did modify a tiny bit, used the chicken broth in place of the white wine, added 3 slices of turkey bacon, a handful of sugar and drizzled maple syrup - near the end. Served with Alfredo sauce over pasta - kind of like a carbonara! Amazing!
