This is a great recipe, but, I did change it a bit. 1)I used ground turkey. 2) 1 small onion & 3 garlic cloves to saute the meat with 3) I used fresh mushrooms & green beans 4) I also used a can of corn This was a great base recipe!! I can't wait to try it with ground beef.
I guess I'm one of the only people not to like this recipe. My boyfriend didn't like it either. We found it bland and too soupy.
Drain the liquid off the veggies!! Of course I couldn't JUST do the recipe... I added about 2tb of worcestershire sauce and 2 cloves of crushed garlic to the meat. To the potatoes (Dan Quale WAS correct) I left the peels, added milk, 1/2 stick of butter, 2 cloves of roasted garlic, and 1/2 -1/3 cup of Tillamook medium cheddar cheese (grated). Whipped untill creamy. WOW- it was great!
This is delicious! I spiced up a bit by putting a layer of crescent rolls on the bottom of the pan and topped the dish off with some cheese! A+++++ I will most definitely be making this again. Also it feeds an entire army so be prepared for lunch for the rest of the week :)
